As I have an elderly Corgi and a cerebellar defective duckling both on borrowed time, I know that my personal sorrow will be here soon as well. Thinking of you Christie in your hurt.
Christie, I am so very sorry. What an amazing dog she was, and how blessed you were to have each other. I too am living with a beloved dog on, as Gina put it, the riverbank. You know that many of us empathize deeply.
There just aren't words that seem adequate in times like this. I've been there, of course, and will probably be kissing my arthritic Marley that final kiss, soon, so my heart certainly knows that pain. 12 years for a giant breed is a testament to how much you loved and cared for her. Thinking of you & your boy. Big hug.
I, the materialist, who never believed
in any promised heaven in the sky
for any human being,
I believe in a heaven I'll never enter.
Yes, I believe in a heaven for all dogdom ....
So sorry, Christie. The older borzoi are, well, something to hug often and give extra treats. My 10 year old Zara likes this. While I know she won't be here forever, hard to imagine her not sleeping by my bed and greeting me at the door. Puppy, now 1 year old Sully has brightened our lives, but it's the end of an era when a special one leaves. I'll light a candle for her, and you.
Christie... I'm so sorry for your loss. Our dogs are definitely SPECIAL family members and even tho we know when we get them that their lives are short, it is so painful to lose such a dear friend. <>

So sorry for your loss of such a dear friend. Breathe in the crisp fall air and remember all the beauty that she was. I lost a dear girl in August and it still is rough. Talking with people in person and on the web has helped.
Somehow I already knew.
I'm so sorry.
*long warm hugs*

I am so very sorry, Christie. I lost a 12-year-old myself, earlier this year. I'm still learning to cope.
