Sunday was a very, very rainy day in San Francisco. The water came down in sheets, buckets and every proverbial and metaphorical rain-like descriptive term you can think of.
It was wet, yo. And I was stuck indoors with a puppy who believes water is some kind of scalding acid that will dissolve the skin from his bones and basically kill him dead.
So when the sun came out in the late afternoon, I had his leash on and was out the door before the first bird gave a tentative little cheep from the trees in the yard.
We live right across from the park, so when we first got there, we were alone, but before too long, that changed.

This meteorological reflection on the magic of puppies and children was brought to you by a deliriously puppy-smitten Christie. One day, soon, she'll return to her hard-bitten journalistic ways.
Maybe.
