I'm breaking the "Kathy Flake no hit-and-run blogging pledge" yet again, but I can't help it. Besides, this is my third post of the day (trying to make up for not blogging five days in a row last week maybe).
From Ampersand at Alas, a Blog:
Weight-loss fanatics have dominated the conversation about fat for over half a century; what can they show for their efforts? Are Americans now less fat? Are we happier about our weights and our bodies?
Even assuming that we accept the paradigm that "fat is bad," which I don't, but let's pretend for a moment that we do, this point seems obvious. Hello, folks, wake up and smell the frigging coffee!
Lots of great general commentary over there, by the way, on weight loss, body image, etc. in their Fat, Fat, and More Fat category.
