Tell me this boy is not the most adorable thing EVER. How can no one have adopted him yet? Look at that face!
He's up at Greyhound Friends for Life's kennels in Auburn, California. He's a greyhound-deerhound mix. They're calling him "Junior," which I'm not wild about, but with eyes like that, who cares what his name is? Check him, and a lot of other wonderful ex-track greyhounds and mixes, here. Great organization!
And if you have questions about adopting an ex-racing greyhound, I just happen to have written about that right here!

He's pretty cute!

Soooooo.....oh, come on! Any reason why you aren't adopting him? I agree on the name -- not a very dignified name for such a dignified looking guy. He looks just wonderful! I know you have a puppy 'in waiting' at the moment, but why not?? Unlike most, you actually have the skills/experience to handle two pups at once. And how often do you see such a unique *actual* Deerhound-x in rescue?

What a great face! We have a greyhound/deerhound mix at my daycare... She is the ultimate sighthound, and so sweet.
Love the blog! Found out about it from TheBark. You can check out my own (brand new) writerly dog musings at hairofthedogs.wordpress.com.
I'm dying to one day adopt an ex-racer, so thanks for the helpful article!

I did follow up on the little guy, even to offer to foster him until my puppy comes, but he has issues with other dogs and isn't a good candidate to live in the city.
I hope someone finds a place for him in their heart and home soon!
