I applied to vote by mail, as I was considering doing GOTV in Nevada on Election Day -- instead, I'm going to do GOTV against Prop 8 here in San Francisco on Nov. 4. But my ballot just came... I'll be voting tonight.
I have never felt this excited about an election, or actually, almost anything.

YAY!!!!!

I have my ballot too. What is exciting for my family is that my oldest will vote in this election with me. My middle child threatened to get a fake ID so she could vote.

How are you voting on Prop 2? I’m inclined to vote yes, but I worry that this will cause more food to be imported from foreign countries. My dog was affected by melamine (she’s ok but will be on a special diet all of her life) and I worry that this proposition will only cause factory farm producers to move elsewhere. That won’t help the animals because they will just be raised in the same way, just in different place. That won’t help us because of lower standards for food in other countries. I’d like to be convinced that this proposition won’t cause bad consequences from good intentions.

I'm voting yes on 2 -- I understand your concern, but I given that these types of things have to happen at the state level, and California is a huge state, and very influential, this is, IMO, where it has to begin.
Whenever you try to change an entrenched system, there are problems, unintended consequences, and a rough period of adjustment. But you still have to do the right thing.
