Liveblogging Xena Con: Lucy and Renee Together
Lucy said, there's a poll that votes for the top lesbian icons, and Xena is number two. Want to meet number one?
Renee came back out.
Renee: What's going on?
Lucy: A whole lotta hugging!
Renee kind of interviewed Lucy about the concert.
Renee: "The concert took you on a journey."
Lucy: "How awesome to have my uber-celebrity go go dancer!"
Chatted about the band. Sharlotte Gibson was one of the backup singers,
and Lucy said she was more helpful than anyone, and Jason too, in terms
of putting the show together. Said she was very insightful about music.
So glad she met her through Duets.
Renee asked about touring, but Lucy said it's a money issue.
Now Lucy asks about Renee's movie. "Have you already talked that to death?"
Renee: "Yeah, I have."
Laughter.
Lucy said she's going on vacation, Renee said, we want to know where you're going, Lucy said, "Oh, that'd be intimate."
Laughter.
Chatted abour Renee's Western.
Lucy said everyone loved Renee showing up last night.... asked us why we thought that, did it mean the friendship was real? Cheers. Then Lucy said, "It's as real as it gets." Applause.
Fangirl: Wondering have you been friends from the very beginning?
Lucy: "Renee was like this bloody fresh scrubbed chipmunk, and 'You're so great,' and I'm like, 'Yes, I am. Because I'm taller than you.' By the next Saturday night we were great friends, she sorted me out."
Lucy teased Renee about her height or lack thereof. They're adorable.
Fangirl asked if they'd sing a song together. Lucy said, "I would LOVE that."
They sang "Deep in the Heart of Texas," or at least, they sang about one third of the lyrics.... with lots of la la la and adorableness. Then they said they'd do a dance mix next.
Fangirl said the show was amazing.... asked Lucy about Lucy's film The Dark Room.
Lucy said the role was an abused woman, and she didn't know if she'd be able to pull it off, but she thought she could, but wasn't sure. It was extremely difficult, because she said no one can tell you how to get there, you have to use threads of your less together self, your non-warrior self. It was scary, but the payfoff's good.
They're talking BSG, but I have to go... I'm supposed to get a chance to talk to Lucy and Renee when they come off stage, and I have to meet the publicist.
I love Lucy and Renee so much KisSsSsSsSsSsSs {}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}
