Because I know you live only to know how the weather is here ....
The sun came out on Friday, so when my friends KT and Reina and their two beautiful Ridgebacks Sirene and Savannah arrived for a visit, we had blue skies, birds singing, flowers blooming, and just about the most gorgeous spring day you could ever imagine.
The next morning the rain came back, and after a few hours of that ... ok, less than an hour ... I was freaking out again. A solid month of rain will do that to you. It rained off and on all day and night, and this morning, but right now the sun is out again and everything is all sparkly and the birds are singing again. I mean, it's seriously purty out there. So this will be short.
For your reading and entertainment pleasure today:
- Gina gets cranky back at a crank about pets
- Roxanne wants to know what's on your iPod, NO CHEATING!
- Pam has an uplifting ex-gay Easter message for you, courtesy of Rev. Tinkywinky
- Who reads your blog? KathyF knows who reads hers, and she's way proud. Go Belgium!
- And yet another Easter message, this time from Michael at The Big Gay Picture, about this morning's Easter Egg hunt at the White House, and a reality check on gay and lesbian equality. I doubt Rev. Tinkywinky will read it, or care if he does, but don't you miss it.
And what's on my iPod right now? The terms of Roxanne's challenge were to set it to randomly shuffle and write out exactly what it gives you, without cheating to increase the coolness quotient or hide the fact that you like Barry Manilow. (Not an issue for me as I loathe him, other than the masterpiece that is "Copacabana," but I admit to having Elton John and George Michael's duet of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me." We all have our freaky side, and I do love me some gay boy singers.) So here is my Easter Morning iPod Random Ten:
- Human Behavior (Underworld Mix) by Bjork
- Dear Mr. President by P!nk with the Indigo Girls
- Pon de Reply by Rihanna
- At the End (Midnite Alternate Extended Version) by Iio
- A Pain That I'm Used To (Jacques LuCont Remix) by Depeche Mode
- Down at the Twist and Shout by Mary Chapin Carpenter
- Panic in Detroit by David Bowie
- Tango: Maureen from the Rent Original Cast Recording
- The Sun Goes Down and the World Goes Dancing by The Magnetic Fields
- Mirror in the Bathroom by the English Beat
A couple of those jumps did make my head hurt - Depeche Mode to Mary Chapin Carpenter to old Bowie. Ouch. Wear a helmet when playing this game at home.

Hmmmph... just got an email from a friend pointing out I had the same song, Iio's "At the End," on my Friday playlist that I posted on Roxanne's site, and this one I just did now, and suggested I was trying to be "cool" in defiance of the rules.
In reality, I doubt anyone reading this knows who the heck Iio are, nor would think they are cool if they did, since the readership of my blog appears to be highly anti-dance music. Also, I have like, fifteen versions of "At the End" on my iPod, because I. Love. That. Song. and it's been remixed four million times and I try to get them all.
That's it, see ya! Taking the dogs to the creek!

Also must point out you have a Bowie song on each playlist, and a Magnetic Fields song on each.
You do, however, seem to have very good taste in music, even if you're gaming the system.

Have you never observed that liking a band no one has heard of is, in and of itself, cool? But I would guess you're a completely honest person, since you have dogs and people with dogs are usually very sincere and wouldn't lie to make themselves seem more cool. Carry on.

There was indeed sun! As is evidenced by this picture of our hostess: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thegrrls/129843423/.
Thank you for a wonderful weekend, Christie!
