    And Wouldn't THAT Just Be Terrible?

    From the very fine blogger Pam Spaulding at Pam's House Blend, news of Maine's attempt to outlaw firing people because they are gay:

    "Don't kid yourselves. If enacted, this legislation will ... open the door to civil unions and same-sex marriage," Glyneta Thomson of Surry, a Christian and a social conservative, told the committee.

    Yes, indeedy, heaven protect us from, you know, treating people fairly and equally under the law.
