I'm a writer and editor and generally completely obsessed with anything to do with dogs, music, dogs, shoes, dogs, books, dogs, politics, dogs, science, dogs, and did I mention dogs?

I'm a contributing editor for Universal Press Syndicate's Pet Connection, the pet columnist for the website of the San Francisco Chronicle, SFGate.com, and contribute to a number of dog-related publications including Bark Magazine.

I'm features editor at PetHobbyist.com and an editor for the Austin-based music blog, club.kingsnake.com, I also write about gay culture, media, and politics at AfterEllen.com/AfterElton.com.

I am also the past director and editor of America Online's Pet Care Forum, past director and editor of America Online's HIV/AIDS Forum, past director and editor of the Veterinary Information Network's pet owner website, and the founding editor of VeterinaryPartner.com.

Although I no longer breed, I still actively maintain the oldest Scottish Deerhound site on the web at CaberFeidh.com, where I have a lot of information about deerhounds, photos of my dogs, information about naturally raising and caring for dogs, cats, and ferrets, and even some information on human health.

I'm a member of the Scottish Deerhound Club of America, and served two terms on its Board of Directors. I am a member of the Dog Writers Association of America, the Society of Professional Journalists, Democracy for America, Sisters in Crime, and the Northern California Deerhound Club.
